Smartick: Online Math for the Holidays
What if your kids were motivated to complete their online math work without complaints each day? What if you could take a little time off from planning math instruction? What if your children could continue to make progress over the holidays while YOU take a break? These are the questions, Ashley, from the blog Some Random Lady asks her readers as she explains some of the features of Smartick Method.
She is actually not the first one to think of Smartick as a great program for the holiday season. Cait from My Little Poppies also shared her experience on this blog post: her kids asked to “play” math even on Christmas Day!
What Some Random Lady likes the most about Smartick:
“We have been playing Smartick for a few weeks, and I can honestly say my kids LOVE it. My son is up at the crack of dawn every morning to get on the computer while my daughter plays on her tablet.
No planning. No arm-twisting! No waiting in line for the computer. No commuting or schedules. Access Smartick Online Math from your PC or tablet. Anytime, anywhere.
My kids are MOTIVATED! It’s fantastic to watch. The short 15-minute sessions allow them to focus on the work before being able to access the games, and the ability placement allows them to work at a level and pace that is challenging but not frustrating.
My favorite part is that I can see that they are progressing, even though their practice is completely independent. Each day I receive an email when they complete their lesson. I can see an overview of the lesson, scores, and how quickly they worked. For a closer look, I have access to a parent dashboard. There I can access study plans, see the questions and units they’ve been working on, the speed they’re working, and more!”
